The recent COVID pandemic that spread through the nation at alarming rates brought normal life as we know it to a standstill. Thousands of people got hospitalised in a matter of days and the country was put under a never before seen lockdown.

While the governmental measures were taken in the best interests of the people, countless numbers of migrants and blue collar workers were suddenly stranded in the streets without a stable form of income. Families of workers spent days starving without any monetary means to gain access to healthcare facilities. Our volunteers witnessed the plight of these grass root level people and dove in to help them in every way possible while swallowing governmental rules to the T.

Our volunteers spent days combing streets looking for people in need of financial and healthcare support and made sure their needs were met. In addition,we supplied food packets and health care kits that included sanitizers, face masks and kabasura kudineer to the migrant workers and their families in Chennai. 

Our measures did not end here. We made sure that we did our bit in providing kabasura kudineer to the traffic police and other service people who chose to protect the society over their own safety. 

With the contribution of our patrons, we have managed to provide healthcare and financial aid to more than 10,000 families across the red and orange zones of Chennai. We envision extending our support beyond the borders of Chennai on to the villages further down South.
